LONDON, UK – June 6, 2022 – Green Generation (GreenGen), a leading global provider of ESG solutions to real estate and private equity investors, as well as governments, announced that it has achieved the first Excellent BREEAM-in-use office certifications in Scotland under the new and improved Version 6 environmental standard for existing buildings. Version 6 comes with a host of new and improved features that build upon BREEAM’s industry-leading standards for driving environmental performance and occupant health and wellbeing with added emphasis on resilience to climate change, social value and circular economy principles.
Calton Square, located in Edinburgh, is owned by a fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management. The certification will assist in aligning the property with Macquarie Asset Management’s portfolio sustainability and emissions reduction goals.
“This helps to encourage and support the improvement of all buildings, wherever they are in their sustainability journey” said Robert Thompson, Director of GreenGen Europe. “As a former manager for BRE, I am thrilled to see a world leading investor utilizing the BREEAM-in-use V6 as a tool to certify their performance and to showcase high standards of Environmental Social Governance (ESG).”
In the past few years, GreenGen has undertaken ESG-related projects for its clients in 12 European nations and continues to grow its team in Europe, in addition to its work in North America and Asia.
“The BREEAM framework is critical to the leadership European investors have taken in decarbonizing the built environment, which produces 40% of global greenhouse emissions” said Brad Dockser, Chief Executive Officer of GreenGen. “We are pleased to support this level of European leadership,”
