BETHESDA, MD (October 19, 2018) — Last night, Green Generation (GreenGen), a Bethesda-based company that transforms the world’s built environment through innovation and solutions by integrating energy, real estate, technology, and capital markets, was presented the 2018 Green Award for Innovation from Bethesda Magazine in partnership with Bethesda Green. The award recognizes GreenGen for innovative work that helps its clients measure and understand the benefits of implementing cutting-edge energy efficiency strategies that create value for their bottom line and the planet.
“We are very honored to be a Green Award winner since our business is focused on helping organizations ‘Operate in the Green’, which isn’t simply money or the environment. It’s the ability to generate two types of green — a financial return and improvement in sustainability metrics in a way that provides the financial incentive to accelerate companies’ focus on sustainability,” said Brad Dockser, CEO, GreenGen.
Bethesda Magazine’s Green Award program has six categories. GreenGen won the award in the Innovation category, which recognizes a “business whose primary focus is developing green products and/or services that is having, or is poised to have, a significant and measurable impact on sustainability either locally or on a broader scale.”
GreenGen projects generate more than $10 million in annual energy-related savings for its clients and create long-term value for clients’ assets and businesses around the world. GreenGen works with commercial, industrial, healthcare, multifamily, hospitality, and government facilities, offering a wide array of services, including: high-efficiency lighting retrofits, HVAC optimization, and “smart building” systems, as well as venture investing, a proprietary energy data analytics platform, and property investment.

GreenGen has executed projects for local firms, including The Carlyle Group, Sunrise Senior Living, Washington Hebrew Congregation, Bernstein Management, Penzance, Federal RealtyInvestment Trust, Woodmont Country Club, and Uniwest.
